What To Expect

ENGINEER VETTING PROCESS.

[1] Chat

These is an informal phone/ video chat with our Talent & Culture lead to learn about you and answer any questions you may have.

[2] Technical Discussion

In this round, you'll meet our Head of Engineering and talk about your experience in Engineering, some projects you've worked on and a discussion about various things you may encounter as a full stack developer.

[3] Code Foo?

Build something well.

The next step in the vetting process is a short coding exam.

We want to see how you think about putting code together and how you think about making trade offs.

We recognise that technical vetting is a pretty artificial environment for proving one's skills, so you can do your coding exam from home in a familiar environment.

There isn't a specific "time limit" to this task - its a case of build what you can within a timeframe that seems reasonable.

[4] Onsite Experience Day

This final round takes 3-4 hours and is broken up into 3 main sections. It's your chance to get a taste of what it could be like working with the team here.

1. Meet An Engineer

You'll start the day spending some time with one of our engineers who will give you a look at some of the work they are doing, and you can discuss any interesting aspects or challenges around that feature or area of the codebase.

2. Live Coding Session

Next up - a live coding session. For this, we'll be discussing and modifying the coding task you did in Step 2 ("Building Something") above. Please be ready with your IDE and repo ready to go on your laptop, with HEAD at the  same commit that you submitted the task with.

3. A white board technical problem

The final step in our technical vetting process involves a white-board technical session.

What we're trying to work out here is your aptitude for problem solving. So you don't need to be an algorithms or data structures expert for this.

[5] Founder Chat

Now that you're done with all the technical assessment, the final chat will be with our Co-founder/ CEO who very much cares about hiring people who make the whole team even better.

[Finally] Offer.

If all goes well...

If all the previous sessions go well and you're enjoying the Qwilr vibe, and we're enjoying yours, you'll soon receive a formal offer to join the Qwilr team :)

Bon chance!
