Visit New York City with your choir!

Welcome to the “Big Apple!” Consisting of five boroughs and home to over eight million people, New York is the most densely populated city in the United States. A leading global city, New York exerts a powerful influence over worldwide commerce, finance, culture, fashion, and entertainment. As host to the United Nations Headquarters, the city is also an important center for international affairs.

Some of the most talented performers in the world grace New York’s stages each year, performing at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and on Broadway. The city has long been a thriving home for the jazz, rock, and blues genres, and it is the birthplace of hip hop, freestyle, and disco. There is something for everyone in the “city that never sleeps!”

DAY 4 | Sunday, March 15

ELLIS ISLAND | CHINATOWN | FLY HOME

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and load your motor coach. Transfer to Liberty State Park in NJ to board the ferry that will take you to visit Ellis Island.

Aboard the ferry to Ellis Island, see the famous Statue of Liberty.  Poised at the entrance of New York Harbor, the statue of Lady Liberty holding her upraised torch is the symbol of freedom and justice for all.  It was the first sight for many immigrants landing on U.S. shores from Europe in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Ellis Island, a 27.5-acre patch, once served as a major point of entry for millions of immigrants.  At one time nearly 2,000 immigrants a day were processed on this island.  Take time to explore the museum and retrace the fascinating and poignant history surrounding the American immigrant experience.

Afterward, take the ferry back into Manhattan where you will enjoy a free afternoon in historic Chinatown, one of New York City’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods, offering a rich blend of culture, cuisine, and community.

Later, re-board your motor coach and transfer to the airport. The Walton High School Chorus' Tour of NYC ends with an afternoon or early evening flight home to Atlanta.
