Pareto Content Upgrades
An Overview of Our Services
Clean up your existing content—
Creating new content is important, but taking care of your existing content is just as important.
You want to ensure that every piece of content and web copy on your website is optimized to perform well in search engine results. A clean up of existing blog articles–including adding new content and analyzing the text for content gaps–is a great way to ensure your content marketing efforts are not going to waste.
When you update existing content, you're more likely to see quick results (in as little as one month) as compared to creating new content.
Our teams at Content Refined have once again systematized this process.
The Pareto Principle asserts that only a “vital few” produce the majority.
The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
Case Study 1
Data from one of our clients...
Here are some results from one of our clients with long-form content (about 7000 words per article). This article was already performing pretty well, but with our Pareto upgrade we were able to boost its SERP rankings in just a matter of weeks!
NOTE: For these comparison tables, we didn’t need to show all 155 keywords and their data, so we looked at the top 25 keywords with the highest search volumes on August 7th. By September 4th, there were 20 new ranking keywords that were added into that table (and a total of 205 ranking keywords overall).
The big takeaways from this one month data analysis:
Case Study 2
Data from another one of our clients...
In late 2018, we worked on 10 articles for Miles Beckler's website. They greatly varied in length and subject matter, but we applied the same technique across all of his articles. Here are the results from updating those articles on December 3rd, and how they improved to January 21st (just 7 weeks later).
1. The number of keywords ranking for each article.
2. The number of keywords ranking with a search volume of over 100.
3. The number of keywords ranking in the top 20 positions.

What to expect working with us
We're huge believers in the power of collaboration. The more fluid our communications, the more powerfully we can achieve your goals.
To deliver this outcome, our process has five stages:
1. Phone Consultation—
Talk to one of our team members about your content needs. They will answer any questions you may have, and offer any guidance as they see fit. This is a free service for our clients.
We begin by performing an audit of your website. We use SEMRush to look at which of your pages could benefit from an upgrade. We'll send you a report with our suggestions.
Our Editor will go through your article for spelling, grammar, flow, and readability. They will then add an extra 500 words of copy per each 1000 words.
The Editor will run your article (with the new content) through MarketMuse to boost its overall content score. MarketMuse is a trusted tool for Content Refined, as they have time and again proven to increase content rankability.
Your Project Manager will deliver the new content to you via email for you to hand off to your publishing team. If you prefer, we can update the content on the back end of your website for you. Then, for 6 months after your upgraded content is published, we will provide you with a monthly report assessing your new SERP rankings.
