Cricket was first played at Trafalgar Road when Birkdale Cricket Club was established in 1874.
County cricket has been played at the club since 1959 when Worcestershire were the first visitors and many greats of the game (Akram, Lloyd, Muralitharan, Richards, Anderson and Stokes to name a few) have appeared on the ground in the years since.
From the 11th to the 13th of July 2022 we will again host another county cricket match, Lancashire V Somerset.

Timings
Gates Open & Marquee Open 09:00
Breakfast available from 10:00 until the start of the game at 11:00
Hours of play are 11:00 until 18:00 with up to 30 minutes added on for any lost time on the first three days
Lunch will be taken at 13:00
Tea will be taken at 15:40
Close of play at 18:00 or 18:30 latest
