THE NEW ENGLAND EXPERIENCE


At IDA Boston international student-athletes (grade 7-12) from all around the world receive a professional Academy rugby experience coupled with the best high school education you can get in New England.


Intensive training and a competitive schedule, with a minimum of 12 hours per week on the field. 


International Guest House in Downtown Boston. Double room with bathroom in a single gender house.


Highly qualified coaching staff with years of experience in dealing with international students. 


Access to MA top preparatory schools, grade 7-12.

The aim is to provide a high-level school environment, with a flexible schedule, that allows an intense training and competition timetable.

Union Point Sports Complex and New England Free Jacks

The IDA Boston Student will train in state-of-the-art facilities across New England. The main hub for training and competition is the Union Point Sports Complex.

Union Point Sports is a 25-acre indoor and outdoor sports complex, unique to the South Shore and located within the town of Weymouth while bordered by the towns of Abington and Rockland and sitting just 12 miles south of Boston.

UPS features four fully lit synthetic turf fields equipped with permanent playing surfaces for soccer, lacrosse, rugby and field hockey. All four fields are lined for 11v11, 9v9, and 7v7 soccer competition while also lined for men's and women's lacrosse.


The New England Free Jacks are greater Boston's 1st professional Rugby Team representing all the greatness of the six New England states on and off the Field. The New England Free Jacks are humble, hard-working, free-spirited and compete in Major League Rugby (MLR), the emergent and exhilarating North American professional rugby competition.

The Free Jacks Academy and Junior Jacks training squads are the official pathway to Major League Rugby in New England, providing girls and boys development, identification, high performance training opportunities and invitation to competitions for young players looking to advance their rugby. The Junior Jacks teams provide a clear pathway for players who show the required potential, ability and desire to develop their game in order to reach professional rugby in the MLR, WPL and US National team. The program invites young players around New England to compete and train together within the Free Jacks high performance environment.


The Free Jacks Academy is one of only 2 USA Rugby National Development Academies in Major League Rugby. With access to world-class coaching, skill development, and competition, players will receive an unparalleled development environment to pursue high performance rugby.
