What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the process of studying behavior and determining the function of behavior in order to implement appropriate behavioral interventions. Although the therapy is not exclusive to autism, ABA is an effective treatment for children with autism.

  • ABA therapy is given 1 on 1 with a personalized plan.
  • ABA uses positive reinforcement in order to increase desirable behaviors and improve the skills of an individual.
  • ABA works on communication, daily living skills, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, coping skills, toilet training, and more.
  • ABA focuses on decreasing problematic behaviors and teaching safe and appropriate replacement behaviors.

Why ABA Therapy?

ABA is used to help increase behaviors that are appropriate and decrease negative and inappropriate behaviors. It helps increase language and communication. Improve attention, focus, social skills, memory and academics. And through positive reinforcement , a child is more likely to repeat the replacement behavior we want to change and maintain.
